medium-term framework published two weeks ago that had no spending ceilings, a threadbare national development plan published in the summer, and an opaque summer economic statement. We have no transparent way of accounting for existing levels of service. We have budgets that are, quite frankly, works … budgetary oversight committee, about it we get no substantive answers whatsoever on clear spending plans. It is, frankly, unprecedented. A very serious credibility gap has emerged.
The summer economic statement is predicated on a €2 billion increase in capital spending next year, from €17.1 billion to €19.1 billion
winner will be announced for this site on 9 December. The Tonn Nua project is expected to be operational by 2034 subject to planning consent, which is the next wave of it.
Specifically then on the Deputy's area of concern, arrangements are being made to bring … accompanying public participation statement. That national DMAP will ultimately designate renewable energy sites around Ireland’s coast that are suitable for offshore wind development, including fixed, floating and floating demonstration locations. The proposal set out information on the scope of the overall plan, timeframes and the required steps
update the Prohibition of Incitement to Hatred Act to reflect the realities of online hate speech. We need full implementation of the national action plan against racism.
There are some welcome commitments in respect of integration in the programme for Government. They include references to the need … have been in this Chamber a number of times since last December and I have heard people say things and make statements. I have heard them use Leaders' Questions as a forum to stoke anti-immigrant sentiment. It is not acceptable and people, if they do not, should

My Department is also overseeing the implementation of the national philanthropy policy that aims to accelerate engagement with philanthropy for social good. We recognise the synergy between policies and the ESF+ new solutions social innovation … policy on their behalf. These include: two national social enterprise conferences, the first of which was held in Dublin Castle last year and the second of which will be held in Ballinasloe in November this year; a national social enterprise awards event to be held in Dublin next
really glad to have the opportunity to speak on these statements this evening and that the Minister is in the House to listen. My home town is Ballaghaderreen, west Roscommon. This is an issue I have raised repeatedly since my being elected in 2020 because our town … desperately needed.
The circumstances of the primary school in Ballaghaderreen are similar. There are almost 30 different nationalities in it. It waited and waited and eventually got planning permission in July for 12 new classrooms. The works need to be progressed very quickly. I hope the lesson will
gives an indication of how little value we put on social enterprise. That research told us that there were 4,335 social enterprises nationally. The total income of social enterprises in 2021 was €2.34 billion. Almost 85,000 people are employed by social enterprises.
That … opportunity.
I praise the opening statement but I would like to see a hands-on approach. I would also like to see the annual report or a date for it and the published oversight minutes. There have been so many strategies and plans in so many areas without
concerns about, and condemnation of, the attacks about which we have heard in recent months.
In response to the Minister's opening statement, I welcome this debate. It is good that we are having it. I commend the Minister on the focus and urgency he has brought since … public representatives were poorly handled. We need to rebuild confidence by engaging earlier, sharing clear information and ensuring infrastructure and services are planned alongside accommodation decisions.
Since January, the Minister has set a different tone and delivered measurable change. Staffing at the International Protection Office has been scaled
them on board, particularly those relating to procurement. That is one we need to look at further.
It is clear from today’s statements that there is an immense impact in our communities. We are talking about are businesses, but I have to disagree with Deputy Gibney. They … directed at growing and developing the capital supports required by enterprises, as well as soft supports such as capacity building, leadership development, strategic planning and increasing readiness for more mainstream financial supports to help these companies grow and prosper.
I am proud of the support my Department gives
have statements on migration this afternoon. With the permission of the Cathaoirleach Gníomhach, the Minister of State, Deputy Brophy, will jointly open this debate with me. It is particularly welcome that we are discussing in this House the issue of migration. It is an extremely important national … whole. For that reason, it is important to emphasise that the Minister of State, Deputy Brophy, and myself are currently working on a national migration and integration strategy. It will set out how this Government intends to meet the opportunities and demands facing our society and economy over
