We are now into two Private Members' Bills, the first of which is the Road Traffic (Amendment) (Jax’s Law) Bill 2026, being introduced by Deputies Barry Ward and Emer Currie.
Before Deputy Ward takes to his feet, I offer my heartfelt welcome to Nathan Murphy and Saoirse Aylward, who are from County Wexford. They are accompanied by Colleen Langan. They are most welcome to hear the introduction of the Bill.

There are only six Deputies, so I will propose at least two minutes each for the response. Deputy Paul Murphy wishes to come in. It has been precluded but only where the number of Members who have asked the questions would not be allowed in. I think Deputy Murphy will be allowed in today. I may not be in the Chair when that happens.
The Deputy's remarks should be relevant to this Bill.

I have just learned of the assault on Deputy Healy-Rae. I am deeply shocked, to say the least. I hope his injuries are not too serious and I wish the Deputy, on behalf of all his friends here and the Members, a speedy recovery. I wish his family well, as I am sure they are deeply concerned. I know that the people of County Kerry, whom he represents in Dáil Éireann, will share a deep concern for his well-being.
