I move: That it be an instruction to the Select Committee on Justice, Home Affairs and Migration, on the Guardianship of Infants (Amendment) Bill 2026, that pursuant to Standing Order 194, the Committee has power to make amendments to the Bill which are outside the scope of the existing provisions of the Bill to provide that: Part VA of the Child Care Act 1991 is amended for the purposes of providing additional clarification in relation to the appointment of a different guardian ad litem to a child concerned under section 35C; and for the purposes of providing additional clarification in relation to legal representation for guardians ad litem under section 35D; and to make other technical and consequential amendments required to take account of the changes above.
